  1. Took down a level 40 quetzal with longneck rifle journeyman level. Has about 159% damage. Used 19 tranq darts and it’s food was Around 1900. Playing on an official server.

Thank you for your response. I still had a projectile multiplier in the dart calculations, but those don’t apply to guns (duh). I totally forgot about it, but now it is fixed 😉 The calculator now indicates that you need 19 darts for the level 40 Quetzal with a 159% damage rifle, just like you mentioned.

  2. For the love of Ark, allow a decimal longer than one tenth. I use a 2.25 taming speed.

    1. Author

The fields have been updated and you should now be able to input your 2.25 taming speed. Thanks for bringing this to my attention 🙂

      1. Thanks a million… hard to find a calculator that lets you input the taming speed.

  3. On the giganto it says that you can not ride it and common location says false it should say on/near mountains

      Updated it, thanks 🙂

  4. I believe the taming effectiveness on the Pachy and Paracer are incorrect based on the kibble feeding. It shows they get a very low effectiveness. I play on an official server and I know those to be incorrect.

I really like this calculator, functionality, versatility, accuracy, etc. I use it all the time. I just request that the Pachy and Paracer effectiveness be fixed. It would really come in handy. Can’t wait to see how you add the oviraptor into this. Thanks all.

I’m looking into your issues at this moment, so it will be fixed soon 😉

I see the problem. The calculations are correct, but for some reason ‘Mejoberry’ is selected instead of the Kibble. For now: if you press the kibble again, it will show the right quantity for those dinos, but I’m on it to fix it.

Aaaaaand.. it is fixed. Thanks for letting me know!

  5. I put 470 tranq darts into a level 96 giga with 120% on a ramshackle gun without knocking him down. I eventually force tamed it. The torpor at lvl 144 was 152,800.

  6. Man…….. I cant thank you enough for all the work you put into this dude…. you rock all kindsa roll….

Any chance you might be able to make a calculator that calculates exactly when the Devs will get their heads out of their asses?

    1. Author

Haha, unfortunately the devs aren’t as straight forward as the dinos they create. Otherwise it would be a nice addition to the website 😉

  7. 116 Pararacer required 36 Tranq Darts with an Apprentice Longneck Rifle 130.3% damage to knock out. (start 99.9% +57) (end 99.4% +57) Result was a 173 Pararacer.

    1. 2x taming above – so standard taming would be 72 Darts

  8. Great calculator. Only one I use since I found it! I just experimented with the oviraptor on an official server. Eggs feed quantity of food as follows.
    Dodo, Dilo, Turtle -20
    Anky, Dimo – 25
    Raptor, Patchy, Ptera -35
    Trike, Scorp -45
    Argent – 55
    Sarco – 80
    Bronto – 250.

Hope that helps! Keep up the good work!

  9. You can ride the giga you know.. Saddle is I believe level 85..

  10. Pachy is not called pachysaurus, it is called pachycephalosaurus

  11. Hey, I was wondering if you could add starve taming to this like the one at crumplecorn? I like this calculator much better and it is often updated as well as well maintained. Crumplecorn’s Calc is not maintained or updated at all. Also on some of your other calc’s and tools it would be cool if you could save your stuff and share the link for example the engrams, if you could save them and share them with your tribe mates it would really help with organizing how people spend their points. 🙂

I’ll see when I can add such a calculator to it. The engram calculator is currently being revised, but that takes a while as the initial implementation was not the best (should have thought about some choices a little better ;p). After the revision, you should be able to save the engrams and share them with others.

  12. Just a small thing but it says you cant ride spiders when you now can 😉

  13. took down a 120 bronto which your calculator said has 13024 torpor. This one has 15466 torpor

  14. just tried lvl 32 Quetz… neither arrow- nor dart-amount have been right… pls check

    1. Author

Could you give an indication of how many arrows / darts you needed to bring it down? You should keep in mind that the game might not register all your shots, so it can always be a little off due to lag / bad hitboxes and the Quetzal also regenerates torpor if you wait too long between shots.

  15. We have schoot on a lvl 60 quetz 100+ darts and arrows and the next is effectivnes only max 15 by begining taming

  16. I have a lvl 8 oviraptor and the starve timer says I have to take it to -1700 food when it only has 900 food to start

    1. Author

When the food becomes negative, it means that it doesn’t have high enough food to be able to eat everything at once. In total it would mean that the oviraptor needs 1700 + 900 = 2600 food to eat it all, which is not possible if you only have 900 food available on the creature.

  17. Taming a level 35 pleasiosaur on a official server. It says it requires 35 rex kibble but it only needed 19 kibble. Values may need to be re adjusted

    1. Author

Plesiosaur has a bit of a weird leveling system. Everything under level 35 is incorrectly shown as level 35. This means that if you encounter a level 1, it will have the stats of a level 1 but will show its level as 35 (resulting in unexpected amounts of food needed). I’ll add this message to the calculator so others will also know about it. Thanks for reporting! 🙂

  18. Noticed an error on the taming calculator on the bronto page, the saddle is listed as needing 185 wood when it requires 185 fiber instead.

    1. Author

You’re right. I’ll edit it when the new creatures are released, so thst should be today or tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know 🙂

  19. Took dowm a 150 rhino playing on an unofficial with 2x taming. using the calculator it stats 28 kibble. the max food is 9000 and the starve timer says to put the food in at 7471.2 when it should be 6760
